Professor Georgeta Ion participated in the congress of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) in Chicago between April 12 and 16. During the event she has participated in the international symposium Bridging the Research-Practice Gap: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Teachers ‘and Schools’ Engagement With and in Research together with colleagues from Germany, the United Kingdom and Ireland. Professor Ion has presented the EIPSI Project in the paper entitled Teachers’ Capacity to Engage With Research Evidence in Practice: Continuities and Discontinuities Between Initial and Continuous Training (co-authored with Anna Diaz, Cecilia Inés Suarez and Saida Lopez, EIPSI members – UAB).
The symposium has aimed to provide an overview of research-informed teaching practice in education: what it is, how it can be promoted and recommendations on how to establish the commitment of teachers to research.
